In regard to 2019, are you saying that the horrible OL was the only issue? Did Goff have any regression apart from the OL?
IMO? It's impossible to separate the 2. For example go back to Bulger in 2007. Was he less effective or did having a demolished OL make him less effective? If a demolished OL makes him less effective then by definition he's not playing as well--but is that "regression"?
I get where you're coming from. But I feel that may only apply to fans.
I think that somehow the coaching staff has ways to evaluate what's the OL and what's the QB. With enough film study, you should be able to evaluate any position apart from other interrelated positions.
Also, it was largely acknowledged last year, and I believe you even acknowledged that the OL was much better in the 2nd half of 2019. The improvement was striking enough that IMO it's not accurate to say that the 2nd half OL was demolished.
I wasn't talking about the coaching staff. My remarks about not being aware of what 2019 meant was aimed at some sports writers.
I doubt the coaching staff thought Goff "regressed" in 2019.
