Ok folks, you just gave up on your number 1 pick in the draft QB who has averaged 11 wins a year as a starter and helped guide you to two division titles and a Super Bowl in the 4 years as your QB1 and 19 months ago you signed off on giving him $110 M guarantee money and traded him away along with two additional 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick this year for a 32 year old QB who has never won a playoff game who you pretty much called the "missing piece" to getting back to the Super Bowl
What is it going to take for media, fans and especially the owner to be happy about the trade?
Your first question on how hot the seat is going to have a different answer than what is it going to take to make the trade worth it.
In my view, McVay dialed up the heat on his seat with this trade but not for next year. I don't see him in any danger of being fired if they make it to the playoffs and are one and done.
But to make the trade worth it? They made the trade because they didn't think Goff could get them past where they tapped out this year. That suggests there would be disappointment in Rams park and with fans if they don't at least get to the Super Bowl once or twice in the next couple of years.
