A restructure was doable, I guess, but hasn’t Goff already done one of those? And besides, wouldn’t it be counterproductive for the Rams to restructure Goff (again) if they had doubts about his Rams future? Heck, that’s the LAST thing they would want to do.
So, I guess I’m saying that I think Cowherd’s all wet on this theory, either way.
The word "restructure" is sometimes misused. To some it means giving money back. In reality it rarely if ever means that. In reality it means moving money around so you take some of the hit off of one year but then you're just adding it to later years.
My bet is that what Cowherd means is that they asked him to give money back.
Naturally he wouldn't. No one does.
So now they are trying to unload him.
