I'm glad you addressed moving Havenstein. He's solid, but being paid more than we can afford for his level of play. Especially given that we have Noteboom and Evans in line behind him. Also a fan of signing Garland. Knows the system and is affordable.
Agree on cutting Allen. Time to move on.
If the salary cap forces our hand on some of the OL players, next years line (assuming no new additions) could possibly be:
Noteboom- Edwards- Corbett- Anchrum/Brewer- Evans. Yes, I can see Corbett moving to OC.
BTW, Natrez Patrick was claimed by the Broncos and is on their roster.
Figures you would like the Garland move. I actually borrowed your suggestion from 3 days ago. Thanks!
It makes sense to me to get a temp vet placeholder at the position since this draft is good at center.
But if they trade Goff and want to spring for a premium free agent center with all the money that becomes available, I wouldn't complain about that path either.
Gotta be honest, an OL of Noteboom- Edwards- Corbett- Anchrum/Brewer- Evans scares me. Noteboom is a downgrade from Whit so if Whit wants to return I wouldn't cut him. Corbett may be better than Blythe but we don't know that so it's a question mark. I think I'm uncomfortable with going with Anchrum/Brewer at guard. I'd draft IOL early.
They should do that whether the salary cap forces their hand or not.
Thanks on the Patrick info. I had forgotten about that.
