This is very deceptive and tricking to try and predict what Wolford would have done. No one wants to take 1 good game from Goff and assign it to the year so why would any objective fan do that for Wolford even accepting the 1 game was all he played. And if you press that logic then Wolford cannot score TDs. No one believes that but the logic has to go both ways.
McVay stated several times - it seemed he was going out of his way - to say that the offense was the SAME. The only change was they built in some designed runs.
And the point on emphasizing the deep shots is not to say that Wolford is better or to predict what Wolford would have done. That's where people are always getting stuck but that misses the point.
The point is that with him taking 8 deep shots, it shows that those are available in the scheme. One game is enough to show that. Goff is choosing not to take them. Wolford was clearly of a different mindset. There is clear evidence that QB decision making is the primary factor at play here.
