I can say that I'm pretty happy with where we ended up because for me, I want one playoff win. That's my goal every year. I believe that can be controlled. Getting further has to do with luck and timing ... case in point, we played Green Bay without our top WR, and our top pass rusher, and no pass rush is why we lost IMO. They were at full strength and still had to work to beat us.
The Great
1) Van Jefferson and Akers. I'm excited for the coming years with our offense regardless of who is the QB.
2) 2 comp picks for the GM hire ... THAT is some powerful stuff.
3) I'm happy about knocking Russell Wilson out of the playoffs.
The Good
4) I'm now allowing myself to assume we get to keep Darious for a 1st round tender.
5) Troy Reeder is a high level backup we get to keep and Kenny Young is a solid flyer at LB.
6) We have enough safeties to lose 2.
7) Comp picks for many next year ... I like next year's draft better than this one, not just because of covid and not just because we have a first rounder (fingers crossed lol) ...
8) Having AD and Ramsey locked up means a lot.
The Bad
9) Gah, Staley's gone. There should be a comp pic situation for this, too ... getting frustrating.
10) Not being within striking distance at the end.
11) Goff's regression.
12) Not having Donald makes the game not as fun ... some have asked if we should trade Donald for a QB ... my answer on this is simple. I've learned to handle losses being a Ram fan, but having the greatest player in football makes every game fun. I wouldn't trade him for super bowls, not that such a thing is even guaranteed.
13) Bobby Evans at OG is not acceptable.
The Ugly
14) The sheer dominance of the Green Bay O line.
15) Goff has 20 TDs, 13 INTs ands 7 fumbles this year. He is second in turnovers only to Jameis Winston from 2017-2019. With a great defense we can still make the playoffs but without that we won't with those numbers.
16) No combine this year, just pro day and virtual stuff. That is not good for me as a scout. I also think it's dumb.
17) Having questions at QB after signing Goff to 30 mil a year. Not a fan of that.
