From Twitter Jourdan.....
Here's my opinion: They are married to Jared for the next two years, and it's hard to picture a trade happening considering the contract PLUS turnover numbers. So with all that being said, I think they do still have options. My option, were I in charge, would be to use a second-round pick (no later than third) on a developmental quarterback in this draft, not just as motivation but also as someone to develop (and honestly, I have not ruled out Bryce Perkins for this, he's really good). They don't need to bring in a veteran backup as long as KOC is on staff (he's the "veteran backup", doing all of those things and working more directly with Goff than an active player would, without needing a roster spot) and a young QB and a little competitiveness could light a fire. Goff isn't Wentz, who by all appearances folded under pressure. Say what you will about Jared, but he handles that kind of thing really well. I think it could be a good thing, with little downside.I dislike using the 2nd round pick to select a QB. However, there's a lot more pressure from Kronke to deliver a winner with the stadium costs.
Perkins may indeed be a better prospect as Jourdan suggests. He's got a larger frame.
But Jourdan's suggestion rings true. If #16 is struggling to make solid decisions in stressed situations, then having a competitive body on the sideline may be an answer.
However, I don't like it. Still think Jared does have the "right stuff." AND, if he doesn't after 2021 we own a 1st rounder and we hit the "RESET" with a credible top arm talent.
Won't deny that a couple of the arms we've seen over the last couple of days have some value. Ridder among them.
Seen Jared kill it. Thrown every kind of ball, and in every situation. Yea......I'm conflicted about using a "high pick" in 21 draft to grab another arm.
