If McVay and Goff are successful and squash all our demons against Belichick, it will springboard the Rams through the next 3 games.
The spotlight is squarely on those two guys. Will Goff be able to handle all the mind games Belichick will be pulling to try to confuse and fluster him. And will McVay be able to respond to what BB throws at him.
There are many skeptics out there who believe Goff will wet the bed again, as he has in the past, and this is just who Goff is.
Stay tuned.
They could lose this game and still take the remaining three.
All season people have been trying to promote this or that game as THE big reveal or THE big springboard game.
And really none of them have been that.
Even when people acted like a game was that, AFTER the game. So SF showed us the Rams were fatally flawed and Seattle and Arizona shows us that they were on the right track and ready to conquer the next level.
It's been this long parade of recency effects.
....
The same rationale you state here also applies to Goff.
In pertaining solely to Goff, he's not just the guy that wets the bed against Miami and SF. He's also the guy that does well against Arizona, Seattle, and TB.
One game, good or bad, doesn't tell us who he is. I don't see the need or wisdom of making huge pronouncements about Goff or the Rams based on one game.
