I've been lambasted and practically spit in the face by some on this board for making this same assessment at the beginning of the season before their first game vs Dallas.
Because of the backlash, I changed my wording as the season progressed.
Here we are with 5 games left in the season and I'm going back to my preferred choice of wording.
Jared Goff is back on the hot seat for the next 2 games.
If he is the majority of the reason the Rams lose either one of their next two games, his ass will be cooked by Rams fans and the NFL media.
His next game is at Arizona which is a must win if you are a Rams fan thinking about the Lombardi trophy.
After Arizona his next game is at home vs the Patriots against the greatest Defensive coach of all time Mr. Bill Belichick imo.
"Hot Seat" to me doesn't mean he will be traded or released after the season.
It means his ass is on the hot seat and he needs to finish this season strong or he will likely be labeled as a second tier NFL quarterback for his career until he holds up a Lombardi trophy.
I realize there are 3 more games after the Cardinals and Patriots but this is Goff's time to shrink or shine.
After 11 games, this team appears to be good enough to win the whole tamale if he does his part.
"You are a now a 5th year professional quarterback Mr. Goff." No more excuses and it's your job to.....
Take your game to another level.
