That makes more sense than you might realize.

Short of cancelling the NFL season NOW-which would be the best thing to do IMO, they could do something like the NBA did with the bubble. But it would be expensive. Rent out one or two hotels where the players eat and sleep and under penalty of death they don't go out except to practice and play games at Raider Stadium. People that are not sick, don't have a family member that is, don't know a friend or neighbor that is-think what's the big deal-lets play football. I personally know one person who died while on a ventilator and at least 4 others that are severely compromised because of the virus. In WW 2 we lost nearly 300,000 men and women combatants. COVID in just a few months has cause roughly 282,000 deaths and we are surging like we haven't since we first became aware of the virus. Just this last Wednesday almost as many people died here from COVID that all those who were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

Players, doctors, trainers, coaches, wives, children of all these, etc are all spreaders. Until we reach herd immunity pursuant to a deliverable and proven vaccine -which I'm told won't be the case until next spring- we are likely to come close to doubling the number of US citizens that lost their lives in WW 2.

This is as serious as anything in my lifetime and we need to do everything possible to combat it. If the NFL won't eliminate the season then they must set up a bubble to complete the season. Simply stated the virus is like the ghost of an uncontrollable Hitler.

I doubt the NFL qualifies for an exemption and why would it ? "Essential businesses are those that provide food, shelter, social services and homeless services, and other necessities of life for economically disadvantaged or otherwise needy individuals; fresh and non-perishable food retailers (including convenience stores); pharmacies; child care facilities; gas stations; banks; laundry businesses and services necessary for maintaining the safety, sanitation and essential operation of a residence.Mar 17, 2020 "
