I agree that Staley might get an interview if the Rams have a deep playoff run, but he should be safe from leaving for a couple of years. If you look at Robert Saleh from SF, and Eric Bieniemy from KC they were the hot successful coordinators last year and still surprisingly weren’t offered HC positions. I think a lot goes into hiring head coaches and much of that is who they can bring along as their coordinators and position coaches and the relationships with NFL coaches that have been nurtured over years of working in the NFL tend to factor big in getting proven assistants. Obviously there are exceptions but if you have ever listened to Pat Kirwin on NFL Radio about the head coaching search process it’s pretty fascinating.
