Here’s fearsomefour...
The Bucs got out to a fast start.
The Rams D deserves a lot of credit.
The Bucs are loaded with talent at WR, TE, RB and have a big nasty line.
From 8:35 in the second quarter the Rams D only gave up 10 points.
Lock Staley up now.
Noteboom was excellent.
I can admit when I am wrong and it certainly appears I was wrong about Noteboom at LT. Thank God for that.
He did not get much help.
A lot of quick throws but that’s the offense no matter who is at LT.
Kept the TE once or twice and went “max” protect on the left side only once, when Goff dropped into the end zone to pass.
Noteboom gave up one pressure to Pierre-Paul when he beat Boom with an inside move, that play still resulted in a 16 yard completion.
Boom wasn’t great in the run game, but, the Bucs came to stop the run. The Rams averaged about 2 yards per carry for the game so Noteboom was not alone in this.
He did do a better job of keeping his feet in the running game though and did make a couple of really good blocks in the run game. Once driving Ghoulston 5 yards down field.
Boom didn’t get help and was excellent in pass.
Game balls:
Boom....on the island most of the game when the Rams passed 51 times and Goff was not sacked.
Woods and Kupp: Rams attacked the Bucs weakness and zone or man they didn’t have an answer. Excellent after the catch.
Jefferson and Akers: Each with their first TDs. First of many I suspect.
Rams D: Great team effort. Rookies making plays. Fox getting pressure. Generally good LB play.
Gay: Missed one but his kicks look like they can be consistent and hit a game winner.
McVay: Didn’t love the run on the third down on the game winning drive, but, he had a game plan to defeat a good D and it worked.
Stinker: The refs.
I never really complain about the refs but in a year where they are not blowing the whistle on any possible fumble they had the quickest whistle I’ve ever seen on Brady’s fumble. The favoritism was obvious in this one. F them.
