Suggesting that people don't know what they're talking about because they must not watch other QB's is bordering on insulting. I don't necessarily know the context of every obscure stat but I do know how Goff's overall numbers compare to his peers as well as how he "looks". It wasn't that long ago that there were long arguments about whether Goff was a top 10 QB or top 5 QB. For the past two years he's struggled to stay in the top 20. And if you're living in the bottom third, you're not great, good or even mediocre.
I'm sure we all think of Goff more highly than his numbers rank but at some point, don't the numbers actually tell a story? Last year, his numbers were poor because the o-line was supposedly a lot worse than their rankings. This year, Goff's numbers are still poor though. He does some good things at times but what must he be doing those other times if he's so far down the chart compared to other QB's?
was not point...it was a serious question
Some people only watch Rams games and highlights of all the other ones....point is, is that you can watch a lot of games featuring the best QB's in the league and will see them miss throws multiple throws usually......McVay doesn't run a dink and dunk stat padding offense like Brees gets to enjoy with dump offs to Kamara nor does he have a true number one stud WR like a Metcalf or Hopkins or Julio etc who can stretch the field and come down with it in double coverage ...not all things are created equal just because player X has this doesn't mean player Y does..... it's amazing as much success Goff has had at
winning at such an early age how much criticism he gets for not being pretty enough in doing so.
Can he be better? Of course he could!! You could ask the same question about every QB in 99.9% of the games and get the same answer.....
