Yep I was mad and still am

I have seen improvement. I think he is a better QB today than he was when we went to the SB. I just always want him to be better. I realize that McVay plays a part and our weapons play a part. I am no longer sure he is what McVay needs based on how limited our unlimited options in this offense are. The fact that we still can't dominate @ TE position. We still can't establish a consistent RB assignment and we have yet to feature or show an ability to throw deap with WR running open is more schematic and it impacts performance. I would rather we changed QBs if we are going to go this way. I feel about how I felt when we changed to Mark Bulger. I never believed in Bulger and felt he was more like a robot and I am starting to fear that Goff is not seeing the field anymore or has limited options. McVay has a solid system if he has the caliber of players he started off with. He wasted Watkins. Cook was more heavily utilized but could not hold up to the physical demands that McVay put on the WRs and I think that what we are seeing with Kupp is starting to look similar. Woods is not being utilized to his best as in the past either so when I see Goff look tentative or confused I am also confused. I fault Goff but when I see the play of our WRs this year and the missed blocks etc I have to begin to wonder if we are seeing a nexus where something needs to change. If it is the QB then get on with it. If it is the scheme and management of personnel fix or start preparing to see this franchise fade rapidly because we don't have the money to cover-up mistakes. Gurley now lets see if we can manage to get more out of Goff or if we have the guts to move on. We chose our backups for the year. If they are a waste then I guess I have to keep hoping my reluctance to fully blame Goff is correct. We got several more games to prove me wrong and declare my faith as blind as a bat but I see more good in this kid and unfortunately if I believe his skills are not favorably reflected when it comes to the ability to renavigate and get this team out of trouble when the plays called are crap. That is where I find much of my agreement with you. I am still wondering if it is Goff being told to not make mistakes and him being over-cautious becuase when he is activated to do what it takes he fairs and looks so much better than when he is playing to protect a lead or playing to not make a mistake.
