I don't know if a straight comparison can be made but I think there is some merit in comparing statistics vs. common opponents. Murray had a big game and much better game than Goff did in terms of statistics. And, I was going to say that each of their styles of play are too different to really compare. I mean, the inclination is to assume that Goff is the better passer while Murray is the more dynamic, multi-faceted QB.
But I'll be darned if Murray isn't putting up better passing numbers than Goff in almost every category. Better completion %, equal YPA, better TD%, better overall rating...and that doesn't include his 500+ yards rushing and 8 TD's. In the long run, I am still old school and believe that a running QB will eventually succumb to injury and once his legs aren't a threat, his passing numbers will suffer. Usually to the point of making him not viable as an NFL starter.
But right now, Murray is on pace to do more passing and running than Goff and Henderson combined! He is far outpacing Goff in terms of production at QB.
