There is no way the Rams lose the Miami game if McVay has a better game plan and calls a better game.
Yes, Goff has a serious weakness recognizing pressure, but they still should have won if McVay calls a better game.
You totally ignored that and put it all on Goff. You gotta stop with the tunnel vision.
Goff is not a terrible QB, and thats all you want to talk about. Instead, why don't you consider the fact that McVay didn't have to run empty sets. But you don't mention that at all, and as a result your analysis is weak and simplistic.
I'm not happy with Goff either, but I know where to draw the line on his blame for losing the game.
Max, tend to agree with your perspective. McVay rightfully deserves part of the blame because he designs and calls the plays. If Goff is playing poorly, the HC has a responsibility to adjust and the O game plan that assistant the QB in responding to what the D is doing. Having said this, Goff doesn’t respond well to pressure, but the OC should be well aware of this and create/call plays that alleviate said pressure. The one thing that baffled me is, IMHO, our running game was successful and thought we could have run more to cause the D to change their approach. Thereby (hopefully) opening up play/action pass and/or short passing games. Think McVay tends to go away from the run game to quickly in the first half.
Yes, Goff has limitations, but the Goff can only work with what he is given. Also, the OC should be well aware of the strength and weaknesses of his QB.
