....I agree there is some recency bias, but it seems to be going on back to 2018 mid-season on (DET, CHI, PHI, NE), last year the OL did make it more difficult, but he still had some bad games, and two times this year (SF & MIA).
It is troubling. Yes, it is not every week because a team needs a very talented defense/DL and he did well against PHI who had a good DL, but he fails often in those games and it is not physical, it seems to be adjusting/mental.
Some of this is definitely on McVay/O'Connell to get him more prepared and better play calls (less empty sets, which was insane).
I guess we agree to disagree...
Thanks for the link Max...
The OL made it a problem last year but he STILL had some bad games? (?) Did I read that wrong or did you mis-phrase it? I mean, how many qbs DON'T have bad games with OL issues?
And whether or not it is "troubling" is a judgment call. I know you want to present it as a "fact" because that's what you believe. What I see instead is an informed opinion that makes a value judgment. Well my value judgment is different. Looking at all the exact same facts, I think it is way too soon to declare a troubling crisis with the qb.
He had 6 good games, 2 bad games this year. In terms of having bad games in your 5th year. JG had a qb rating of 72 against SF, so let's count 75 and below as mediocre to bad games. '
By that criteria. how many bad games did Brady have in his 5th year in the league?
It was 4. -- [

I have not seen anything yet that leads me to agree that something is a crisis or troubling.
And right now--at this point--it's fair and in fact completely expected that there would be different views on that. Which there are. With many people on each side. So...stay tuned.
