They say being able to process where pressure is coming from right before the snap is something a QB may not ever get, usually they get it or they don’t.
This is the key point in all the Goff criticism. We all know McVay didn’t help him much in Miami, but the point remains that Goff didn’t help himself by anticipating pressure.
You can watch Goff and see the problem, then watch other good QBs and contrast the difference.
Lande asks the question, will Goff ever get it? He needs to or every team that has a good defense will beat him by attacking this fatal weakness in his game. We just can’t say, hey its good enough to beat all the teams without a good defense. That gets you to 9-7, maybe a WC, and you’re swiftly out of the playoffs. Is that what we are satisfied with? Not me.
