Like you- if I am reading you right- the more I think about and examine this game the more I think it was deficiencies by McVay and OConnell and less so by Goff. Both had very bad days but I think coaching and poor game planning was more of the issue. Playing the 30th ranked run defense should have meant 35-40 rush attempts.
And that's what they did in Washington. I've mentioned this before but Washington has the 4th ranked total defense, is 1st in passing yards allowed and is rated higher in pressure percentage than Miami. The Rams ran on them 35 times. Against them Goff threw for 70% completions, 2 TDs, and was pressured 3 times.
