It's possible (though admittedly without having seen him there, I am not sure it's preferable.) When in Chicago Kromer drafted a 6'3" LOT who is still the starter there (1 pro bowl on a pretty good OL).
This is from an old interview, with JB Long talking to Kromer (first week of October). I did the transcript. This is what AK says about Anchrum:

Both Anchrum and Evans play LOT in practice. Anchrum can play there because while he is just 6’2″ he has very long arms and so can go up against taller DEs.
Anchrum is a steal, Kromer says. They liked him and then he gets here and he’s even better than they thought. Needs a lot of reps.
They think they have a couple of LOT candidates in house.
