We all know it is a team sport, momentum, Rams fourth road game in five weeks and they have lost both games on the second part of those road trips, SF was desperate, etc. but the defensive played passive and tackling is what is going to keep them from being elite (it is embarrassing to watch week after week men who make great money have no technique, take poor angles, and it is not improving where it is what they are; a soft team way too often against bruising teams).
I mean, what do they do in all those meetings and on-field practices and walk-thrus? Seriously? I only see Jalen Ramsey lay the wood. JJIII, Rapp, Hill, Williams, they are really bad at tackling WAY too much. Week after week after week.
Bingo my friend! This really concerns me as well. Is this a coaching thing or a player thing? Maybe a little of both? I think we need to be bigger and stronger. Too many "little guys" or at least guys that "play smaller than they are".
But Jared Goff more often than not does not step up when they need him.
I love Goff; I want him to be the QB for a while and I am not suggesting he go away, etc., they are hitched to him for a while.
But the throws he missed with a decent pocket most of the time, the rush in which he throws it, against a terrible, beat up SF secondary lies at his feet. He speeds up his mechanics and looks flustered. This is his fifth year. He goes to off-season camps to purposely work on these things and it disappears way too much. He has started 67 NFL games now and he still looks "uncomposed" way too much.
He is the QB, he makes $33.5mm a year and needs to carry this team.
Deadpool is right IMO, he is Matthew Stafford and some other QB's, he just cannot carry a team to win a SB.
I am so disappointed in his play last night. I found it disturbing. I know they are 4-2, there are ten games left, but once again he failed to deliver when the D had a horrendous half, SF was desperate, and yeah Kupp should give his check to needy charities for his awful game, but the QB gets $33m a year for a reason, and McVay cannot try and cover for Goff all the time.
I know, recency bias and I am being hard on Goff and what kind of fan am I, but this is the NFL, you gotta win games when your team desperately needs you.
I am just not sure of Jared Goff, and I love him, but I am just not convinced he will ever lead them to a SB title.
Wasn't Goff like leading the league in first half drives and other stats as well as 4th quarter rankings prior to this game?
Yes, he was "off" last night, but he was not the only one. If Kupp (and Woods) catches those passes...we will the game and this isn't an issue today.
Goff might not be a HOF'er but he is top 5-10 in the league IMO. Goff is not our biggest problem. ST's, small D Line and LB's are way more concerning IMO.
Can you name the last Rams QB who you would rather have right now than Goff? Lord knows we've had a few! lol
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
