does it matter?
I think it does...and will. Though our offense has generally been performing well, it's been my perception that defenses have been constricting the field against us. I get the sense that they don't believe any of our WR's can get behind them. As a consequence, they seem to be keying more and more on our horizontal game (i.e. WR screens).
I see it as a problem because, if our rush attack isn't on...our offense will really struggle (like we saw against the Giants).
Leading up to the draft, I proposed trading a 4th to Cincinnati for John Ross (who the Bengals declined to sign to a 5th year). As he's been a healthy scratch the past two games, I'd like to offer up a 7th for him, but I'm not sure if he'd be active for us as a 5th WR and PR. I don't know how many games he'd even survive as a PR.
Four games into the season, I suspect that if the Rams had a deep threat...we would've seen it by now.
