and EVEN THOUGH I DO think Goff is improved, and continues to improve.... how much of what we've seen so far is:
All Goff OR McVay's ability to play call within the contraints of what Goff is capable of. Pretty sure that's going to be read by some as some kind of diss on Goff... it's not, to me anyway. Goff's execution has been amazing... and also... what Coach doesn't try to optimize their QB's chances.... also how many coaches CAN do that, that is have a QB to work with that affords you the ability to playcall in such a way?
Combo of both, I would think... McVay and Goff... but right now McVay is looking like an actual genius to me.
Why ya dissin Goff, man? lol Just kidding.
I agree it is BOTH, which is exactly what you want. A good coach will be able to use his players strengths to his advantage. McVay does that as well as anyone.
That was something Fisher didn't or couldn't do. Fisher wanted his QB's to play "his" kind of ball regardless of the QB's strength. Run run pass using short curls and comeback routes.
I agree McVay looks like a genius but he can call the BEST play he has but the QB still has to execute it. McVay and Goff make a great combo and I hope they stay together for many years to come.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
