Like battle, plans never survive past first contact.
Learning how to pass from uncomfortable positions is crucial...I mean, crucial. imo QBs must learn their limits when throwing from awkward positions becuase it happens SOOOO much during a game. Yes, the optimum is throwing and following through with your body...but that is becoming rarer and rarer. Mahomes is one of the best at this because of his baseball training. imo
I think coaches will value this aspect more & more because OLs cannot create perfect pockets every pass...and in trying to get away from a pass rush a QB may NOT be able to get into the perfect poetion to throw the ball....and therefore must learn what they CAN do with their throw. INTs happen when a QB tries do throw
a throw he is not comfortable with. Getting a QB reps being uncomfortable while passing teaches that QB a ton of invaluable physical cues that he weighs during a split second during a play - to throw or not to throw!!
Anyway, we just disagree on this...cuz I think it's invaluable and would teach this more than having a QB throw during 7 on 7s.
Hi. Are you responding to me? Because I don't disagree with anything you're saying.
If it's me, the post you're responding to just says that that was not ALL they have been working on.
This is what I said earlier in the thread:

. But a qb who has to throw off his back foot is doing that because on the plays where that happens, there;s no escaping the pocket, no stepping up into the pocket, and pressure is pushing in. A couple times a game if he can throw better under those conditions, fine.
