Questions on questions. I suspect this may well suppress player movement. I suspect that players won't be as anxious to put themselves on the market as FAs, and I imagine teams will be less able to throw money at FA players. I also suspect that we'll see some short term 1 and 2 year deals on 2nd contracts as players know the money won't be there immediately, but perhaps it will be on 3rd contracts.
I wonder also about Franchise Tags that pay players big bucks for a year based on a salary formula. I think it may tamp this down as well.
I also wonder how this will affect QB money because teams have more or less calculated (ala Mahommes) the QBs contract based on a percentage of projected cap. Might some QBs be prepared to negotiate to give some back? Or might teams actually consider letting really high priced guys like Aaron Rogers go in order to have several more quality players? And if you're that QB, where might you go that has the cap space to accommodate. This isn't the NBA where a team tries to get 2 or 3 superstars and a bunch of role players.
