How about addressing what I said.
Do not soldiers go away for long times? Soldiers signed up. We don't have a draft.
Do not oil workers go away for a long time? Oil workers signed up to go to remote places because they make big wages.
I don't have empathy for the players; they make a lot more money than soldiers or oil workers. Nobody is going to force them work. They have the option to opt out. But if they do, why should they also be paid? One red cent? Because they're players?
The players themselves have a near zero chance of dying from Covid. And could they bring it home? Yes. Then if they want to earn the money, do what the soldiers and oil workers do..... suck it up and stay away from their families for 4 whole months. My gosh. You act like this is some horrible thing. It's a choice. Make the money, and if you're worried, stay separated for 1/3rd of a year. Or don't make the money and stay home...... just like all the rest of us. And this is vitriolic? To ask players to suffer the same circumstances the rest of us do?
But no; somehow NFL players are above it all. OH, the poor players. They're not being treated nice if they can't sit out AND still be paid. Somehow if I think they ought to have to work to be paid, then I'm all for the owners.
That's not a lack of empathy. It's a demand for accountability.
