The NFL is proposing a pro-rated payment system to the players. Otherwise if any games of the regular season are played, the entire season contracts must be paid, putting pressure on the league to cancel games starting week one if there is any chance of ending the season early.
The NFL is scared, with good reason. If they can't get an agreement, I think the chances of starting the regular season goes right down the drain.
