Had a nice conversation with him at training camp, told him how true fans knew how important he was to the offense and appreciated his nose for first downs. This is in the heart of the GSOT days and he seemed truly appreciative that his contributions were noticed. (I know he didn't have a HOF career but I do think he is not as appreciated as he deserves for his GSOT contributions. He is rarely named along with Ike, Torry and Az.)

I asked him to sign my Super Bowl book and he took a long time making a really clear and genuine signature. Class guy.
