does Akers know the offense like Brown? Does he know pass protections? When is he going to get that down between now and the season starting... especially with COVID-19?
I fully expect McVay to create some packages for him but he will have a ton to learn before he can play every down especially in an offense that throws the ball like the Rams
Nope we should see a rotation from the very beginning and if Akers is as good a football player as athlete then by 6 or so games in they will increase his load
Of course injuries to any of them changes things
Where to start?
Akers is reportedly very football smart so should master playbook quickly. Hendo, otoh, reportedly struggled with playbook last year.
Akers is reportedly excellent in pass pro whereas Hendo never got on top of it.
I think Akers is the better receiver already. Those are 3 huge reasons that McVay preferred Akers to other highly regarded RB’s.
I think Akers is the better overall RB and proved his worth on a poor college O while Hendo enjoyed holes in college that my mother could run through.
I do agree that they’re gonna split carries this year, but I do expect Akers to get the majority of them by earning them in camp and preseason.
Time will tell, of course.
