Day 2 was a good day, IMO.
I like our picks from both a short term and long term pov.
Akers could seriously be our opening day starter at RB.
Jefferson looks like he will likely seriously compete with Reynolds for 3rd WR in 11 sets THIS year and definitely be starting 3rd WR next year should Reynolds leave, as expected. If Van gets good separation in the NFL, as expected, he will become another favorite target of Goff. McVay’s goal is to have more talented receivers than the opposing 3rd CB can cover. Van likely fills that bill.
Lewis does have that injury history but the Rams think those were freakish. And Lewis has a potential ceiling that is tantalizing. Some have said he would have been a 1st rounder but for those injuries. I’m kinda reminded here of how teams passed on AD because he was ‘too small’. Should compete for lots of playing time as a rookie and might be a helluva D chess piece for Staley to tinker with.
This Burgess kid sounds like a gem. Versatile and talented, just the things Staley says he’s looking for. Burgess might have a shot at actually starting at nickel and/or seeing plenty of snaps in a myriad of Staley packages this year.
Nice Day 2 haul for Snead/McVay, and without a single trade down, mind you. The more I learn about these 4 new rookies, the more I like. I foresee a ton of production from these 4 guys.
OL doesn’t seem to be the big problem to Rams that it does to many fans, it seems. They seem content to develop the kids they invested in over the last couple of years.
Maybe an ILB tomorrow, perhaps as soon as the 4th? Then probably BPA at their picks thereafter. Hopefully a good crop of UDFA’s after that.

I'm pretty happy too but just to play a little devil's advocate I've got a hypothetical for you.
Fast forward a year and we're at draft season 2021 and the following has happened:
1) Cam Akers wasn't the opening day starter or the "starter" at all. He was in a healthy committee with Henderson where they both got somewhere near 50% of the snaps, give or take 10%.
2) Van Jefferson did compete with Reynolds but because of his level of development and greater familiarity in the scheme, Reynolds got much more playing time, with Jefferson not being used a ton in his rookie season
3) Burgess shows the flashes and versatility that makes us think he's a gem but he's mostly used on passing downs as a 3rd safety.
4) Basically, these 4 guys show promise but nothing special in production in year 1.
How are you feeling about the draft at that point?
