Do these smokescreens really work though. If the Rams told the world they were absolutely taking a WR in the second round how does that affect the other GMs' decisions? I can see it at the top of the first round when teams are vying for that franchise QB. But, most teams have at least one talented WR and some have two. We have three and all I read about is how it is a tremendous need. I think not. We are returning our two star WRs in Woods and Kupp as well as our 4th WR, Reynolds, who has been pretty good when getting regular reps. Also, have the Webster kid who the Rams like. If a first round talent falls to us then we should draft him, but it is not our biggest need. And what position we might pick in the middle of the second round when there will surely be very good prospects at a number of positions and perceived need makes no sense. The only possible way it would matter is if a specific player who some other team has targeted falls to our spot. Do they trade up ahead of us or with us? And even then, if they only know what position and not what player why make such a move?
