but you don't seem to like his strategy of trading picks for players. I understand the Ramsey deal if you think he is a generational talent, but his diva tendencies do not endear me to the guy. If things go bad, he is not someone who will be a leader....see Jaguars. If he is a Revis type lockdown corner for next 5 years, it will be a win I guess.
My main issue with Snead, is all the busts over the years. His fascination with raw, physical ability led to picks like GRob and Quick. His desire to force need picks led to trading a 2nd rd pick to move up to #8 to pick Tavon Austin. His love for wheeling and dealing led to I Pead & Rok Watson instead of Bobby Wagner. I know there have been Kupp & JJ picks as well, and AD, Gurley, etc...but all told his picks have been average to below average considering the plethora of picks he has had.
I was not a fan of Goff and still think Wentz is the better qb but both have had their struggles. I don't like Goff and the more I see, the more concerns I have. But yeah, we did not have a qb and now we do. I think the extension at the time was foolish. Goff had struggled enough that there was no point in extending him before necessary, and that includes using franchise tag for potentially 2 years.
Speaking of extensions, I don't know who is making the decisions, but extending Tavon, Gurley, Goff, Higbee were all highly questionable decisions.
This has not been a well run organization for some time, despite the SB appearance and overall win %. Its not how you build a team.
