Snead and McVay aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Period.
They make a great team and the Ram future looks bright both short and long term.
No, they’re not perfect and occasional mistakes are made that some like to point out with the benefit of hindsight. So, what’s new? Lol.
Every year they play their chess game of intricate offseason moves via trade, FA, and the draft. We are not privy to those strategy discussions so how can we fairly judge individual pieces of this vast offseason puzzle being put into place?
I’m surprised at the chicken little reactions of some after only 2 days of FA, especially when we all know that the Rams are in no cap position to be active early on, anyway. I think that this FO and coaching staff have earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt based upon results gained in their first 3 seasons together.
Big Picture? Rams O is returning intact except for Gurley, and as AlbaNY pointed out, the ‘19 Gurley didn’t set the bar all that high, did he? If OL is improved then this O is in business as a top 5-7 unit.
The D is undergoing major renovation, as it should since it was rather mediocre last year despite having a lot of talent. That can’t b overstated. New DC and there will be 5 new starters on D this year. Fine by me since change was clearly necessary, including schemes and philosophy. Worst thing they could have done was stand pat, IMO.
But that’s not how McVay rolls. He’s driven to win and has made MAJOR changes in Coordinators and player personnel. Expect some more personnel changes, a shrewd draft, and select tier 2-3 FA signings before opening day. Snead/McVay aren’t done, they’re just getting warmed up.
To those who may be conceding this ‘20 season as prep for ‘21 I say ‘not so fast’. This ‘20 Ram team is gonna be very competitive and a team that nobody wants to play.
Rant over...
