I hope so. I also imagine it is part of a larger plan. It is tough to see talent walk out the door. There is a lot of talent remaining on the Rams defense. FA and the draft will bring in more talent. But depth at corner seems so valuable. The cap hit on NRC seemed like good value. I thought they were fortunate to have him under that contract. I always feel like you can't have enough pass rushers or cover corners. NRC would play the run well too. He was of small stature but feisty. The number of changes on defense with the offense needing work seems like a lot to contend with at one time. I saw NRC written about as a potential cut and like you did not give it any thought as a realistic possibility.

I appreciated Brockers' career contributions with the Rams. I could see how much he contributed when he was out. The run defense seemed much less stout without him. It is nice to have a rare career on one team player. But a third contract, a high contract for a run defender I could see how the Rams would let Brockers get paid somewhere else. He has a good chance of getting a ring with the Ravens over the next three years.

It was wonderful to see Littleton go from an undrafted player to become a ST star to then become a star on Defense. I understand you can't keep everyone. Is Johnson a more rare player to come across than Littleton? I don't know. It seems like safties can be found. ZN's 7-8 high paid players on a team posts help me here.

Work the Second Tier of FA, signing released players working the comp pick system. Drafting well in the middle rounds. I'll say it again it makes me think of the great Bobby Beathard. It will be fun to see it all play out.
