I think Havenstein is about what you expect from a 2nd rd pick, Maybe Joyner as well...he was ok. You hope you find a few gems out of 7 picks. JJ is the closest that could be considered a "gem." I think that is fair. I think it is fair to expect better, especially for the undeserved love Snead gets.
Well, there's at least a bit of definition there. It sounds like a solid starter, that's nothing special can be considered a hit in your book. By that definition I see 4 out of 7 hits.

That leads to the next question which you didn't answer. What's a normal hit rate leaguewide? What's a good hit rate?
As far as finding gems, that seems like a valid criteria to determine success too since we don't just want only non-special, solid starters at that point in the draft.
But the question remains as to what's a reasonable expectation as to how many "gems" do teams find in the 2nd round on average? If we're counting Rapp and JJ as gems for a 2 of 7 rate, that's 28.5%. Is that bad, average, or good compared to the rest of the league?
