I don't see why it is so necessary. Different talents and potential. Goff has some things going for him that means you are always in contention to win if your Defense and OL can cobble together successful key stands.
The arm talent alone ensure that we have a passing chance.
Our offense is more complicated than you might think and QB has to master a lot.
I am not sure short sighted projections or simplistic comps are effective or fair to either QB. Anyone who cannot celebrate the raw talent and accomplishments of Goff in his short career are missing the point and ignoring the enormous advantage we have in building a championship caliber team because we have the building blocks with Jared inboard. There is no such thing as a perfect QB and no one can hand us one or draft one without experiencing the continuous finger crossing.
