Not the time or thread to go into that debate or long winded dissertations, so I won't....but whatever word you want to apply to it is up to you.
I do NOT know what it is.....very true. But I firmly believe the team was 'off'
Bottom line: the team wasn't the same and it extends beyond the offensive line. It was the worst situation this season, by far.....but there was more. Trading away popular vets, the hush hush around Gurley's health, Robert Woods sudden absence, Cooks having no impact, Weddle's non performance, etc.
I don;t think most of those things were really THINGS.
The team is not "hush hush" about Gurley's health. He has an arthritic knee and they refuse to confirm that, most likely because Gurley made it clear he did not want it talked about so they respected it.
Woods? Means nothing. Private family issue and the Rams had the deceny to respect that.
Cooks was not the same player after the concussions and gradually got it back to the point where he was fine in the final games.
Weddle's "non performance" was exactly identical to what he did in Baltimore the year before. He's lost too many gears to make plays. That's why Baltimore let him walk. Nothing strange there since you don't grow gears back once you've lost them.
Trading away "popular vets"? Hunh? (?) Talib was injured and not the same and Peters was never a fit. They did it because they knew they had the depth and it helped clear cap space--and they were right, they did have the depth. That was just shrewd use of resources.
