It's all very true.
However, in all respect, culture very much matters in a team environment of any kind. It is always at the core of losing or dysfunction. I'm not saying it was the problem for all the inconsistency this season, but it played a role.
The fact the Gurley wasn't named a captain by his teammates was my first clue.
There was something off about this team from the beginning of the year. Now, if you want to use the words 'team dynamic' over culture, I would agree with that......but in hippy terms: this team had a weird vibe.
There are real things people can point to and talk about, but they need to get rid of the word "culture" before they can do that. And IMO "team dynamic" is just as bad. (You can say what you want obviously without caring what I think about your word choices, but this one time I am just expressing my grouchy skepticism.)
IMO? What was off about the team is that the OL was out of sync and that took a lot down with it.
Maybe you could say something wasn't right but you're not sure what it was.
That would be better than acting like the word "culture" means something in this context. So "culture" becomes just another way of saying "I don't know what it is" without actually saying "I don't know."
