Wow. Apologies my response came across like that to you. I used mean as an opposite to nice. Again my apologies if that was too much of a stretch. Could you describe what you mean by "tough ship"? I love Vermeil--but he almost lost me with the Bruce Hamstring issue handling.
Players are getting benched from what I see. Demby got a chance and now where is he? Peters and Talib? Havenstein?
What is a higher sense of accountability? Benching? Cutting? Calling the players out in public?
This team doesn't play consistently well imo because the offense is not that talented. The line is bad. The WRs cant beat tight man coverage. I have a minority opinion that I think Gurley looks fine. But his horrendous play as a receiver makes me question if he should be on the field. If Goff isnt dropping dimes this offense doesnt produce.
McVay maybe a victim of his success. He coached up a group of average talent to extreme results. The league caught up to his schemes and the players lost that advantage they had. But they are still the best players he has.
Given your experience, I would love to hear you specific thoughts on what McVay should do. From my much lesser experience, what I do is set expectations, teach, and provide feedback. My apologies for my poorly written response. I would like to understand your point of view.
