I can see how it seems that these things would compare and I'm sure it's way beyond what I can understand but putting it in terms I'm familiar with, I don't agree that there's a comparison. Both activities have to do with the brain but a sprinter reacting to a starting gun doesn't seem the same type of function as a QB processing all the variable pieces of information that are happening. Conceptually, increasing one's ability to react after deciding to do something would aid in a QB's overall ability but I don't know that that is what a QB is actually struggling with when the game isn't slowing down for him. With Goff in particular, I don't see a problem with his reaction time, more a problem with choosing the best action.
