I just took one example--pass rush win rate. Here's your espn article:
1. Atlanta Falcons, 54%
2. Dallas Cowboys, 53%
3. Philadelphia Eagles, 52%
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 52%
5. Pittsburgh Steelers, 50%
6. Los Angeles Rams, 50%
Now here's pro football reference on ressure percentage...that is percentage of sacks, hits and hurries per dropback
Their top 6:
Washington Redskins 30.9%
Pittsburgh Steelers 30.7%
Los Angeles Rams 29.3%
San Francisco 49ers 28.5%
New Orleans Saints 26.9%
Jacksonville Jaguars 26.9%
They rank Philadelphia 10th, Dallas 11th, and Atlanta 29th.
What accounts for that discrepancy? Where on one list, Atlanta is first in Team Pass Rush Win Rate, and yet on the other list is 29th in pressure percentage?
...
From what I understand, a team's pass rush win rate is how often their pass rushers are winning. That's a defensive metric.
OTOH, pressure percentage is an OL metric.
I said I took a sample at random from the page.
I compared pass rush win rate,
which is a defensive stat, to pressure percentage,
another defensive stat.
I said I just took one example from the page at random.
What I say in that post has nothing to do with offensive lines.I just randomly compared two different defensive stats. That was enough for me to question that entire page. I mean how does espn have Atlanta first on pass rush win rate and PFR have them 29th in pressure percentage>
