Another nice post, Dead. I like it when you get real.
Being blessed with 20-20 hindsight I see where Snead/McVay blew it with the OL strategy. Maybe our FO is weak on OL evals, or maybe they just undervalued the importance of a strong OL. Or both. Sure have egg on their faces today, though.
Gurley? At this point all they can do is try to get the best they can from him consistent with managing his knee condition. Won’t make many happy and won’t ever produce results based upon that salary, but it is what it is. They best make plans for life without Gurley, though. He’s on a 2 year leash until they can afford to cut him. Sigh...
I think that the Rams have re-learned a very hard lesson. Can’t succeed with even exceptional skill players on O if one consistently loses battles in the pit. I predict multiple OL moves next offseason in an effort to rebuild that OL. Gonna be lots of new faces there next season. Conceivably Boom and Edwards plus 3 new faces. Everything is on the table regarding our OL for next year. Kromer apparently bit off more than he could chew with Boom, Allen, and Blythe this year.
