I think given their cap and free agency situation the best they can do is add one experienced OL in the offseason. Ideally it's a quality veteran castoff like a Weddle or Matthews type situation. Right now to me center would be the ideal spot to significantly upgrade while continuing to develop Allen as their top interior backup. Maybe a Ben Jones from TEN or Whitehair from CHI. But my point is I think they do have some young talent and adding one quality veteran can help the guys next to him.
I agree. One vet looks like the max that can be afforded. I was also thinking a center would be good but the top tier guys in J.C. Tretter, Whitehair, and Ben Jones all just signed extensions in the $11M range within the last 6 weeks.
Maybe there will be some 2nd tier guys available. I don't know.
