Rampage2K-
Just listening to the Sean McVay show right now and he basically said he wishes he could have a do over on pulling Gurley out when he did.
Says they have a lot of confidence in Brown, but says he (himself) has gotta do a better job of getting a feel of the game flow...Interesting bit of admission of a mistake.
Sounds like he didn't expect an 8 minute drive by Steelers in fourth quarter which put us in a two minute offense to finish the game.
Not McVays best year, but I love how accountable he is and admits his flaws and will learn from all of this adversity this year.
Says Cooks should be ready for Baltimore game, so there is some good news.

Thanks for this 2k. IMO, McVay might not be totally honest about Gurley and his usage. As you said in another post "there is more to this story". In today's PC world and how much the game has changed due to the amount of money they make, coaches cannot be as honest as they could.
Glad to hear Cooks is coming back. I wonder if he will be more of a decoy? I bet they don't call any crossing routes for him. Gotta limit the hits on BC. His next concussion could end his career.
I actually buy his story, it kinda explains it a bit.... he was thinking they'd get a few more opportunities in the game to get Gurley back in there and thought Brown might have some more success, but his assumptions were just wrong and by the time he got Gurley back in the game there was only enough time to run a two minute offense after the Steelers killed us on that 8 minute drive in the 4th qtr.... btw that 4th and 1 play was a killer on that drive, gutsy call by Tomlin but it worked unfortunately cuz that was the ball game imo.
In retrospect he regrets taking out Gurley for a few series to start the 4th qtr considering how well he was running and admits he needs to do a better job of getting a feel for the game....This is where I think he needs some sort of senior offense advisor on this staff that can say "don't take out the hot hand" and kinda give him some veteran perspective of what he's seeing.
