Taking risks is a must. When even 1st round draft picks have only a 50-50 chance of becoming starters, let alone star players, giving up high picks for established stars who've proved themselves isn't dumb.

Yes; the NFL is becoming more NBA-like. It is becoming a league whereby you have a handful of stars, completed by a team full of role players who are expendable. The trick is becoming a "destination" team where the best role players come at a reasonable cost. A place where the much more mobile NFL players WANT to come.

It seems the Rams have crossed that Rubicon and in some ways are the tip of the spear. Give Kroenke a lot of credit for this.
That means that while the Rams won't have a Superbowl contending team every season, they will be fun to watch, they will be tough to play, and they won't sit on their hands waiting years for draft picks to "develop", or just as likely to "bust". And, they will jettison even "stars" they were wrong about if need be.
