Maybe what we are seeing is McVay trying to get Goff less dependent on it and hes going through the growing pains along with the oline?
I've thought of this. I think there is some merit here. Ultimately this will be good for Goff and the offense. It may also be necessary if Gurley is no longer going to be the best offensive player in the NFL.
I feel a lot of what we're seeing with the offense is growing pains for not just Goff but also McVay. Adaptation was necessary given the exposure last year in the SB and earlier.
It has more to do with the defense we are seeing and the o-line than anything at this point.
Orlavski pointed it out today on NFL Live and highlighted a couple first down runs last week that were well designed, but on one of the plays Noteboom whifs his block and instead of a 7 yard gain on first down it was a two yard gain(Brown was the R
then he should another one where not one, but all three lineman missed there blocks and Todd got one yard on a first down carry.... said Rams were 5 ypc on 1st downs last year, this year they are 3 ypc and it changes what you can do as an offense.
Most people are fixated on Gurley and his knee that they don't see the obvious..... THE OLINE IS STRUGGLING
