And I apply it today. It's what I saw. Steady that OL, and set it up so the score was more even and they weren't behind against a defense whose strength is the pass rush, and the Rams do better.
But not only were they behind by multiple scores, and playing against a top pass rushing team that knew they had to pass, and not only do they have a young and inexperienced interior OL, the two OTs are not playing as well this year.
That's not a formula for good qb play.
In fact I am genuinely impressed by the fact that given the mess they were in, they could score 40. You don't do that unless you have something at qb. Even granting all the bad moments.
In my mind, put that same qb behind a solid OL, and he's more productive and less error prone. I am just completely under the flag of that particular conviction when it comes to all this.
