He’s been extremely negative on Goff since he profiled him at Cal. He felt vindicated after Goff’s rookie year, labeling him as the bust he expected him to be. Then McVay comes along and throws a monkey wrench in Farrar's narrative. But Farrar won’t let go. That’s fine, everyone's entitled to their narrative. I do find it interesting however, that Farrar never speaks of his high grade on Paxton Lynch, whom he rated much higher than Goff before the draft.
Anyways, Farrar sees what he sees, and as an amateur analyst draws conclusions that he locks into without allowing for growth in a young QB. The fact that Farrar doesn’t allow for the real possibility that McVay wouldn’t tie himself to Goff for 6 more years if he didn’t believe Goff would get significantly better is meaningful. It’s as if Farrar won’t entertain that possibility or thinks it irrelevant.
