My Man, I don't know that we have either.
Among the backups, we have a lot of evidence to suggest that there really isn't much talent there. I do not see a capable NFL OL in Demby or Neary. I think NB probably has shown at least replacement-level talent and I have an intuition that Allen could be pretty damn good. But I have SEEN no clear evidence of talent.
Experience? Well. I think that speaks for itself.
We keep hearing that the scrimmages were valuable. They may well have been. But OL takes time to learn. How far can 3 scrimmages which weren't even full-go take these guys? I don't see how they can have been developed as far as they would have been with 6 quarters of PS work.
Again. I am not offering a definitive judgment. I am saying we fans are faced with big, unanswered questions and there is plenty of reason to be concerned and suspicious.
I mean, it's only our offense's ability to do virtually anything that we are talking about here.
I hope my fears are ungrounded. I hope Kromer and McV are vindicated. In general, I actually like McV's approach to PS games. But with this OL? I don't see it yet and, as we head for CAR, I would argue that we only have a theory to give us confidence in these guys.
