A 'clean tear' means nothing in regards to an ACL. A torn ACL cannot be repaired. You either live without an ACL or you undergo reconstructive surgery. ( BTW I tore my ACL in 1981, had the remnants of my ACL removed by arthroscopy, and have gone about my business for the last 38 years without one.)
